Inchwise Philosophy for Young Minds (Online Edition)
1. Course Philosophy
Philosophy begins not with knowledge, but with questions.
In this bilingual journey, children learn to distinguish between what they see and what they think, to listen deeply, and to use language as a way of understanding complexity.
This course helps children learn to think through language, and helps families rediscover the value of thoughtful conversation.
2. Course Format
Platform: Tencent Meeting (online)
Language: Bilingual (approx. 50% Chinese / 50% English)
Duration per session: 1 hour
Frequency: 4 sessions per month (48 sessions per year)
Group size: No fixed limit; students will join small discussion groups within each class
Recommended age: 9–14 years old (basic English listening and speaking ability required)
3. Fees and Membership
Standard rate: £40 per 1-hour session
Annual membership: £1,920 per year (includes all sessions, materials, and feedback reports)
Membership benefits include:
Guaranteed placement throughout the year
Termly bilingual progress reports
Priority access to Inchwise philosophy salons and international exchange events
Fees are calculated on an annual basis and may be paid in full or in two instalments.
4. Bursary and Accessibility
At Inchwise, we believe that philosophy should be heard by every child who is curious enough to ask questions.
Each year, we offer a limited number of Bursary Places to support families who may require full or partial fee reduction.
Families wishing to apply may select “Apply for a Bursary Place” in the registration form and provide a short Family Circumstances Statement.
All information will be treated in strict confidence and used solely for internal review.
We offer a small number of bursary-supported places each year to ensure that every child with curiosity and commitment can join our community of thinkers.
5. Teaching Features
Balanced bilingual dialogue: Seamless transition between Chinese and English, helping students think and express ideas in both languages.
Inquiry-based learning: Each class begins with a story, image, or real-life question that sparks discussion.
Dialogic classroom: Students are encouraged to ask, listen, and articulate independent viewpoints.
Parent observation option: Parents may observe selected sessions to better understand their child’s growth in reasoning and expression.
